Life is magical–more so the more I pay attention. “Move One Place On,” the Wonderland sculpture at Evelyn’s Park in Houston, Texas, brings to life the magic of the Mad Hatter’s tea party in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. (If you think Lewis Carroll’s classic is merely children’s fiction, well, you haven’t paid attention.)

Hidden in the monumental sculpture are “150 things,” elements from the novel, in honor of its 150th anniversary in 2018. The details are just amazing. The more you look, the more you see.
Bridgette Mongeon created the sculpture and brought it larger-than-life-sized using 3D-printing technology. Read about and view videos of the creative process at http://alicesculpture.com/.

What a wonderful post! Thank you Celest. This motivates me to go and visit the sculpture to try to find the 150! You can see me in your mind with my paper in hand and 150 empty lines ready to be filled out? beautiful pictures too.

You’re so sweet, Luz. Yes, I can picture it! We should go together sometime. It’s delightful, and I haven’t found many of the 150.
By the way, I hear that Bridgette is working on a book, written in the style of Lewis Carroll’s riddles, to help us find the hidden items!
